Sessions & Fees

Free Consultation

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation as a means of helping you and I determine if we think we could work well together. I’ll ask you about why you are considering therapy and you can learn more about me and my approach to helping. I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have. If we agree that I’m a good fit for you, then we can schedule your intake. I am an Out-of-Network/Private Pay provider. There is more about what that is and how it works below.

$165 – Intake Session

During our initial session, we discuss the reason(s) why you are interested in therapy. I gather as much information about you, your history, and your current situation as I can. I am very thorough. While I always try to be helpful, the intake session is not a therapy session. I advise clients to allow for up to two hours for an intake session if their schedule allows.

Therapy

$125 – 60 Minute Session

In therapy, we get to work. We set very specific goals, determine the best way for you to meet those goals, and work through the obstacles keeping you from experiencing life in a meaningful, fulfilling way.

$300 – Solution Focused Single Session

A solution-focused single session can last as long as three hours and is designed to help someone navigate a very particular problem or situation. It is not appropriate for everyone. We can discuss whether a single session format would be helpful to you during your free consultation.

Payment

Private Pay & Out-of-Network Insurance Reimbursement

I am a private pay, out-of-network (OON) provider. This means that I choose not to be in-network with any insurance companies or EAP programs. However, this does not necessarily mean that you cannot use your insurance. I can provide a monthly superbill upon request that you can submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. It is your responsibility to work with your insurance provider to understand your coverage and seek information about their reimbursement process. Payment is due at the beginning of each session. I accept all major credit/debit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards.

There are many benefits of private pay psychotherapy. If you are using OON insurance benefits, I am still required to provide and share a diagnosis. I do not diagnose unless the client’s presenting concerns justify it. However, OON and private pay allow you to choose any licensed therapist you wish and determine with them the length and course of treatment. There are no restrictions regarding online therapy and you can continue working with your therapist of choice even if your insurance changes.

There is company called Reimbursify that assists with OON client reimbursement for a small fee. I am not affiliated with Reimbursify.

Cancellation Policty

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment with no fee up to 24 hours before your appointment. You can cancel via email or leave a voicemail if I am unable to answer your call.

I offer one free cancellation per calendar year for each client. If you have used your free pass for the year and cancel with less than 24 hours notice or do not show up for your appointment, you will be expected to pay the equivalent of one half of your scheduled appointment fee.

In exchange for you respecting my time, I will respect yours as well. I am not immune to unforeseen scheduling conflicts myself. I, too, must occasionally reschedule on short notice. If I must reschedule you with less than 24 hours notice more than once (I get one free pass as well), your rescheduled session will be billed at half the normal rate.

The exceptions that apply to us both are for emergencies (i.e., death or birth in the family, an accident) or serious illnesses or injuries of yourself or someone you care for.
